Seventh essay about 「English
and I」was written by Hayao Kawai. He is very
famous Japanese psychologist. He introduced Jungian psychology in Japan.
Therefore, He is the highest authority of this field in Japan. The tittle of
essay is 「I am not good at English, that’s why...」
He think that his English skill is not good
although he studied abroad in UCLA as a Fulbright student. I would like to
point out his style of English studying before being a Fulbright student.
Maybe he improved his English skill through
the practice. And when he studied abroad in UCLA and in Zurich, he overcome his
poor English skill like a writing and speaking.
But he also realized that translating
Japanese thinking from Japanese to English is so hard. I really agree his
opinion.
Because, I often try to write my articles of
blog in English. But I often feel that it is hard. That is reason why, at first
I always compose it in Japanese in my brain. Next, I always translate it from Japanese
to English. The process is very hard, because I could not sometimes translate correctly.
Maybe I think if my English is better, the
hardship will disappear. But when will it happen? I do not know^^;
